Using Nullpad
These terms are between you and Chris Mish, the developer of Nullpad. They supplement the license and purchase terms supplied by the app store where you obtained the app. If a store term controls a store purchase, refund, or device license, that store term applies.
You may use Nullpad for personal or lawful business notes on supported devices. Nullpad does not require a Nullpad account.
Your local notes
You keep ownership of the notes, images, and other material you create or choose. Nullpad receives no ownership interest in that material.
Local capture, editing, reading, search, organization, trash and recovery, reminders, camera import, and local export do not require the Sync subscription. Ending Sync does not authorize Nullpad to hide, delete, lock, or make local notes read-only.
You are responsible for keeping any recovery copies you need. Device loss, app removal, storage failure, operating-system behavior, and deletion can affect local data. Nullpad will document the tested backup and export paths for each release, but no single local copy is a guarantee against every loss.
Annual Nullpad Sync
Nullpad Sync is an optional auto-renewing annual subscription. It provides continuing SSH folder sync, supported cross-device convergence and recovery, delivery of the Nullpad agent skill into the chosen folder, and application of supported agent proposals. The US reference price is about $4 per year; Apple or Google displays and charges the exact localized amount before purchase.
Payment is handled by the store account used to purchase. The subscription renews yearly unless you cancel it through that store before renewal. The app provides a manage and cancel link to the applicable store subscription page. Deleting Nullpad does not itself cancel a subscription.
Cancellation normally leaves Sync available through the paid period, subject to the store's rules and applicable law. Billing retry, account hold, refund, revocation, or expiration can pause network features. Local notes and local export remain available. Purchase restoration is limited to the original store platform in version 1.
Refund eligibility and processing are controlled by Apple or Google when that store processed the payment.
Your server and SSH folder
You choose the SSH host, account, path, authentication material, and authorized users. You must have permission to use that destination and to place the selected material there.
SSH encrypts data while it moves between Nullpad and the configured server. It does not make the resulting Markdown and image files secret from the server administrator, authorized Unix users, backups, or agents you authorize. You control those systems and their retention, security, cost, and deletion.
Nullpad's agent skill describes a bounded file and proposal protocol. It does not grant an agent access by itself. You decide which agent or tool can read the folder and whether to apply a proposed edit.
Responsible use
Do not use Nullpad or Sync to violate law, another person's rights, a system owner's rules, or store policies. Do not attempt to use the service to interfere with the entitlement verifier, store billing, or infrastructure that is not yours or that you are not authorized to use.
You are responsible for the material you place in Nullpad and for deciding whether a chosen server, administrator, agent, backup provider, or other authorized tool is appropriate for it.
Availability and support
Software and network services can fail. Nullpad will use reasonable care to preserve local data and operate paid features as described, but uninterrupted operation is not promised. Store outages, device limitations, SSH host availability, network conditions, and your server configuration can prevent Sync from running.
Nullpad is provided to the extent permitted by applicable law without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. Nothing here limits consumer rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be limited.
If a paid feature has a persistent defect, contact support with the device, app version, store platform, and a description that does not include private note contents unless you choose to share them.
App ownership and license
Chris Mish retains the rights in the Nullpad app, brand, original interface, documentation, and protocol materials, excluding third-party components and your content. Your store license lets you use the app; it does not transfer the app's source code, trademarks, or service infrastructure to you.
Open-source components remain governed by their own licenses and notices supplied with the app or project.
Changes and contact
These terms may change when the product, law, or store requirements change. The effective date will be updated, and material subscription changes will be presented as required by the applicable store and law. Changes do not rewrite a completed billing period contrary to store rules.
