Current development status
The current development tree implements typed local notes, todos, reminders, quotes, local full-text search, app-owned on-device speech input, local reminder scheduling, photo-to-ANSI, durable note merge, bounded native SFTP, native Apple and Google billing bridges, signed entitlement admission, and purchase/restore UI. Voice, reminders, camera, live SSH recovery, store products, the verification service, and signed release builds still need their respective physical or live-system proof.
If a control is labelled wiring, planned, or unavailable, it is not a permissions problem. That path has not shipped yet.
Basic troubleshooting
Microphone
Open the device's app settings and confirm microphone access. If access is denied or voice capture is unavailable, typed notes should continue to work.
Notifications
Confirm notification access and check the reminder's time and timezone. Reminder delivery is still a development path until physical-device testing passes.
Local notes
Let an edit finish saving before force-closing a development build. If a note fails to reopen, include the device model, OS version, and what happened immediately before the failure.
Search
Search covers the title, note text, and assigned labels. Raw ANSI drawing glyphs are not treated as searchable prose.
Camera + photos
Choose Photo to ANSI, then Camera or Library. If permission is denied, typed notes remain available; use the device's app settings to allow camera access later.
Annual subscription
The planned store release is a free download. Local notes, capture, camera import, search, reminders, recovery, and export stay free. One annual auto-renewing purchase at a US reference price of about $4/year unlocks SSH sync, multi-device convergence/recovery, agent-skill delivery, and agent proposal application. Apple or Google will show the exact localized amount and renewal terms before purchase. The purchase and restore implementation is present but cannot be called live-ready until both store products, the signed verifier, and sandbox/license testing pass.
Purchase and restore are available from the in-app Sync screen when a signed store build has the live configuration. Cancellation and payment management remain in the applicable store account, with a direct manage/cancel link in the app. Apple purchases restore on supported Apple devices; Google purchases restore on Android. A lapse pauses paid network features but does not hide, delete, lock, or make local notes read-only.
SSH host-key and path errors
The bounded SFTP transport and durable merge protocol are wired in the development tree. Profile, credential, live-server, two-device, and recovery UI testing remain open. When private sync testing opens:
- Do not bypass a host-key mismatch. Compare the fingerprint with the server administrator first.
- Confirm the account can use SFTP and that the chosen path exists or can be created by that account.
- Check directory ownership and write permission for the selected Unix user.
- Remember that SSH encrypts the connection, not the readable files stored on the destination server.
